Virkon S Disinfectant is now available in a far more user friendly tablet form.
Each Virkon tub contains 50 individual tablets, providing the ultimate disinfectant solution when dissolved in 1/2 litre of clean water. The tablet form is ideal for small applications, and Virkon tablets are convenient to store, easy to use and simplify making the correct solution strength, and without the inherent dangers of handling a powder.
Tablets are especially suitable for low volume applications applied by a spray bottle. Dissolve one tablet per 500 mls of water and the solution is ready for use! 1% Virkon has activity equivalent to 1000 p.p.m. chlorine without hazards, corrosion potential and loss of activity due to organic challenge.
Application of Virkon solution is especially effective for routine and preventative cleaning with disinfection. In contrast to hypochlorite, Virkon’s unique formulation is not inactivated by organic challenge or ’soil’. An integrated surfactant, Virkon degreases and cleans at the same time as disinfecting surfaces. Independent testing of Virkon has proven efficacy of Virkon® against 22 virus families, 43 bacterial genera and 27 fungal genera.
1% Virkon solution has an exceptional safety and environmental profile. Virkon contains no aldehydes, hypochlorite or phenols and is non-toxic and non-sensitising. Virkon solution biodegrades safely and can be disposed in the normal drainage system with no effect on the environment.
Virkon at a 1% solution can be used to clean and disinfect all areas where animals are housed and handled, as well as being used as a skin wash to help with skin problems on animals (and reptiles, birds etc)
