A slice of luxury - with a small carbon foot print. Made from ORGANIC cotton covers, and felted waste WOOL (from sheep!) that would otherwise be discarded. These beds are suitable for cats and small to medium sized dogs.

The beds are handmade in Somerset and filled with seven layers of semi-felted 100% wool with no added chemicals or treatments. This makes them excellent for many dogs with skin allergies and old bones, needed a bit of extra padding and warmth.  The covers are made from an organic cotton fabric made by a family in India, and are made in Somerset.  They are made from fairtrade, organic fabrics, fastened with a zip on the long side for easy removal and are washable at 30 degrees.

Wool has many features:

It is an excellent insulator, keeping animals warm but not overheating

It is naturally hygroscopic - it absorbs and releases water very easily, allowing for dogs that tend to come in damp!  And when damp - wool has the amazing ability to release heat - helping keep old joints comfortable

Looks great and feels soft, and is safe to handle

100% bio-degradable, leaving no residue at all.  At the end of your bed's life it can be put in the garden round your plants and trees to feed them - no indestructible polyester to take to the tip and fill land-fill sites!

The wool stuffing is dry clean only to prevent further felting, but in most cases it will be fine if you just air it regularly.

Comes in blue denim organic cotton.  The covers are fully machine washable - but we recommend a low temperature wash to save energy.  The wool insides should not be washed as this will encourage further felting.  Simply turn and air regularly.

The wool is sourced from local farmers who would otherwise have to discard the coloured and lower grade wool as a waste product - working with them directly makes the most of this waste product

The Russell 700mm x 520mm - for small/medium dogs and large cats (- but our sheepdog has been known to curl up on this size - so not that small!)
