We would highly recommend to clean the bite site and the tool with antiseptic.
Ticks can carry and transmit Lymes disease, and Babesiosis - so remove them as fast as you can, and if you notice a change in your dog's behaviour, consult with your vet, advising them that you have removed one or more tick from your animal.
